To compromise today with Democrats and some Republicans afraid of principled positions is to appease them all. It is to say “We can live with the present circumstances. Despite the lies, and abuse of positions of power and trust, and general hardships and discomfort people have put up with, we can ignore all of that, and just compromise, and put it in the past, to move forward again as a united country”. However, the present circumstances are totally unacceptable, and to use the left’s language,” unsustainable”.
To compromise with today’s run of the mill Democrat is to compromise with a hard-core Socialist or worse Communist, and is not moving forward but backwards to a time when people did not have a voice in government and were not free. Today’s moderate Republican in principle is nothing more than a Democrat of just a few decades ago calling itself a Republican. RINO is an appropriate name.
The political middle needs to shift back to where it was before Bill Clinton took office or further before we can think of compromising with Progressives and they’re destructive anti-America, anti-Constitution agenda. Only when that happens can you have an honest discussion about compromise.
When the political middle with each passing year keeps shifting left, because of largely successful propaganda from media outlets in this country and public education, there is little hope for this country to remain free in the future.
Conservatives and Libertarians must draw a line in the sand and risk everything to include dividing the Republican party and the country itself to save freedom and America. You cannot compromise with an enemy who seeks your destruction and does not recognize your right to exist. (Just ask Israel). You must neuter them, or utterly defeat them and remove them as a threat.
You cannot hope to remain free by compromising with people who do not believe Men have the right to govern themselves and be free. Compromise out of false hope, ignorance or apathy will kill us all.
